Noordhoek ... see it |
Noordhoek is situated below the Southern Slopes of Chapman’s Peak Drive and is Cape Town’s rural treasure with a farm atmosphere. It is famed for its long white sandy beach but don’t be surprised to find horses, pigs, cows, hens, ducks, geese and rabbits roaming around the gardens and open public spaces. Cape Point Route recommends horse riding on the beach for a close up natural experience or purely absorbing the atmosphere with a walk or sundowners and take a moment to appreciate the ancient milkwood forest.
The atmosphere and lifestyle in Noordhoek is tranquil, with a relaxed, unhurried pace… but don’t be fooled- the artists and crafters in the area are cutting edge. Most of them are gathered at Noordhoek Farm Village, which is also a great playground stop if you have kids. The shopping is fabulous for arts and crafts but you will also find every modern convenience at the large shopping mall where you can stock up on supplies for picnics or self catering accommodation venues.
