Surfing ... do it |
There are a number of Cape Point surfing locations, so hire a surfboard and a wet suit and go surfing! Take the plunge from Muizenberg Beach known for its gentle sloping white beach and consistent waves, making it conducive to surfing, kite-surfing and land-sailing. Muizenberg is the perfect beach for surf lessons but top surfing spots can be found in Hout Bay, Kommetjie, Scarborough, Glencairn and Kalk Bay with some great point breaks, reef breaks, a few barrels and a good wave can usually be found on one coast or the other. Surfing is a Cape Town institution and a key activity on the Cape Point Route. Ask the locals for the tip of the day or contact the surf report. Winter surfing is excellent in Cape Town waters- see our blog article on winter surf spots.
