Venue Occupying the grand African Banking Corporation Building which was built in 1894 later becoming home to the Standard Bank in 1927, this historic venue retains the original marble pillars, vaulted ceilings, glass domes and architectural elements of the legendary Temple Chambers and the South African Reserve Bank Building. The original teak panelled Chairman’s Office is used as an elegant cigar lounge, while the refurbished original Vault with immense vault doors, operates as a unique venue.
Event
The Murder Mystery Challenge allows members of your corporate team to lose some of their inhibitions and relax more easily as they assume a personality role and problem solving techniques to find out "Who-did-it?!" All delegates receive a character script and tips of what clues you can reveal or conceal to cover-up potential guilt.
Script
Attending the unveiling of the newly renovated Reserve Bank; esteemed guests wandered through the halls admiring the architecture under the watchful eyes of the bank's security.
The dinner gong sounded and guests started to return to the hall where a spectacular feast had been prepared in celebration. Suddenly a blood-curdling scream could be heard over the string quartet and guests rushed to investigate. In the vault the body of Edward Billingham, the newly appointed reserve bank manager, was lying on his back, his eyes bulging and a garrote still wrapped tightly around his throat. He had been strangled to death. Upon closer investigation, it was also discovered that a sizeable amount of diamonds and gold had vanished from the vault.
Suspects can expect stately characters and a seductive plot with plenty of twists to unravel before the truth behind the heist and shocking murder of Edward Billingham can be revealed.
