Intaka Island Challenge

Intaka Island is the beautiful wetland bird sanctuary around which Century City is built. The winding pathways, viewing hides and abundant birdlife make this the ideal focal point for exploring the area. 

The natural beauty of Intaka is also in stark contrast to the bustling Canal Walk Shopping Mall. The diverse array of shops, hidden alleyways and outdoor gear centres enable us to put on an action packed event. The maze of canals link the wilderness to the shopping mall and the unique mode of transport adds a new dimension to the challenge.

The Concept
The Intaka Put Foot Adventure involves using maps and clues to navigate through Canal Walk, Intaka Island and the surrounding areas in search of clues and check points.

The Group will be divided into teams where they will start off with warm up activities, Ice Breakers and a briefing on the days events. They will receive a Race Book and Maps to navigate their way around Intaka Island & Century City. They will answer questions, create a necklace from materials they collect along the way, complete clues in their racebook and stop at numerous check points, completing challenges in and around Intaka Island.
 
The Action
The teams will need to read the map and kayak in very stable, dry boats to navigate their way around the route. On Intaka Island they will have to identify birds, discover ecological projects, complete a fear factor eating competition and navigate the maze of paths.
 
Riding 1km on a spinning bike, inflating a camping mattress, using binoculars to find hidden clues, solving riddles and giant puzzles, engineering and accuracy tasks are just a few of the challenges the teams will complete on the Intaka Put Foot Adventure!! 

We will end with an awards ceremony where we will shower the winning team with praise and glory as well as highlighting some of the craziness of the event! A fantastic way to explore this diverse area while interacting with your colleagues!!

• Comfortable clothes (shorts and T-Shirt / jeans & sweater)
• Closed comfortable shoes (takkies)
• Raincoat / dry change of clothing (winter time)
