Comfy & casual Restaurant in historical building serving plenty of seafood & mixed-pan specials, meaty grills & probably the best pizza in Simon’s Town. Always busy & popular, especially on live music nights.
Cafe Pescado was once a church and then home to the Criterion cinema (there’s a gallery celebrating South African film history) and this Simon’s Town legend serves delicious food in its own historical time warp. Situated opposite Jubilee Square in the heart of Simon’s Town.
The atmosphere is pub-like and Pescados serves up a mean pizza and a good range of seafood at reasonable prices. The mixed-grills are always popular. Live music on weekends adds to the ¬atmosphere (and often on a Tuesday) and a great spot to meet the Simon’s Town locals – who have a loyal following – testament to the food , fare and fun to be had.
The staff are knowledgeable and service is friendly & efficient. Good food at an honest price!
In addition to the thin based, wood fired pizza range some popular dishes include:
Soup of the Day
Peri Peri Chicken Liver pan-fried with savoury rice.
Baby Squid tentacles with sweet chilli sauce.
Hake and Chips (ask for extra tartare sauce)
Lasagna (beef or chicken)
Beef fillet with blue cheese sauce.
Ice-cream and hot chocolate sauce
Bookings recommended especially on Saturdays.
