Nestled within an indigenous Milkwood Forest in the seaside village of Kommetjie, Slangkop Tented Camp is the perfect location to watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean around a roaring camp fire.
Whales are often spotted around here between June and November, so it's fitting that the design draws the ocean greats. The rounded shape of the tents echo a whale's gentle curves and old whale bones have been used as light fittings.
Location
This 12 sleeper tented camp is situated a mere 100 m from the sea and a hop skip and a jump to Long Beach, famous for its Surf Breaks. Here you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, with the convenience of a short walk to shops.
Accommodation
The 6 x 2 sleeper "tents" are permanent structures, with canvas interiors covered by a completely weatherproof sheeted roof. Each tent has two single beds where linen and towels are provided. The communal bathrooms have hot showers and the Boma & Braai area is fully kitted out...even with an antique woodburing Dover stove for chilly nights.
