Introducing our Cape Point Route collection of restaurants with fireplaces on the Cape Peninsula. Cape Town winters call for the glow of a roaring fire so we’re letting you know where to eat and drink and unwind in front of a fireplace.
THE TOAD IN THE VILLAGE
Tel No: 021 789 2973
Email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Website address: www.thetoad.co.za
Opening Times: Mon –Sun: lunch and dinner
Fire and Fuel: 2 wood fireplaces – one downstairs in the seated restaurant and one upstairs near the bar. “we know our wood”, says the manager
Ambience: This is a real country pub, family friendly, where mates hang out with mates
Food: Extremely good pub fare – excellent pizzas, pies, steaks, salads etc. Monday is curry night in winter and a bargain at R65!
Hot tip: Ask for tables 62, 63 or 68 upstairs to be near the fireplace. Order the Eisbein or venison pie for a hearty winter dish (and throw in a bottle of Old Man’s blend from Groote Post for a full bodied red on a wintery evening) and the warm pecan nut torte with fudge sauce is divine in winter!
