Introducing our Cape Point Route collection of restaurants with fireplaces on the Cape Peninsula. Cape Town winters call for the glow of a roaring fire so we’re letting you know where to eat and drink and unwind in front of a fireplace.
Address: Kalk Bay Harbour, Main Road, Kalk Bay
Tel No: 021 7884133
Email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Website address: www.harbourhouse.co.za
Opening Times: Monday to Sunday: Lunch 12 until 4 pm and Dinner 6pm until 10pm. Lounge is open between 4 and 6pm for drinks and coffees
Fire and Fuel: Large octagonal wood fired fire place in center of main restaurant. (it’s a winter feature and removed in summer when the sun does the warming!) Bonus fireplaces – two smaller ones in each of the two premium dining areas as well (wood and/or anthracite)
Ambience: Casual, beach house chic with the ocean as an inspiring back drop. Despite the fine dining and stylish elegance – the ambience is not stiff or formal so one can relax in a comfortable environment – helped by the old world charm of Kalk Bay’s working harbor.
Food: Harbour House has their own fishing boat (Live Bait) which supplies it’s catch exclusively to their restaurants so you are guaranteed the freshest line fish – this is what they love and do best. Cuisine is international, some Mediterranean elements underpinned with classic French cooking methods.
Hot tip: Winter Set Menu Specials are unbelievable value for the quality offered. There’s a new set menu every month from May until September: R140 for 2 courses, R160 for 3 courses. Whale watching is great in season.
