Clearly companies have just woken up to the fact that we have only 58 working days left until Christmas as we have suddenly been bombarded for Year End Function proposals.
Since our 2011 Year End Function Ideas article we have developed some new and exciting events which will be sure to win you the popularity award amongst your staff.
Did you know?
Most of us spend 1920 working hours in the year in the office!
During these hectic hours of meeting deadlines there is very little time to get to know our colleagues on more personal level outside of the office. Taking your staff out of the office environment gives them the opportunity to build relationships and form bonds which will enhance their performance in the office.
Why should I budget for a Year End Function?
- Taking staff outside the office in a new environment
- Colleagues get to know each other on a more personal level outside of the office.
- It is a great way to say “thank you” to your staff for all their hard work
- Bonds are formed which helps breaking down barriers
- Improves morale and productivity
- To have fun with your staff!!
How much should I budget?
This is very dependent on what kind of event but here are some guidelines.
Event/Activity: R250 – R580 per person
Lunch/Dinner: R130 – R300 per person
Overnight: R300 – R750 per person
What about prizes?
We find prizes a bit cheesy and quite frankly a waste of money. But we love the idea of being acknowledged for your achievements by getting a prize which you then give back to the community from as little as R50! Check out: www.giftsforgood.co.za
We also love the “You Get to Give Campaign” which supports a local trust called Empowerment-Through-Education to send children to school! Your prize could be a pledge voucher which would be in the name of the Prize Winner! Very cool!
Here are some 2012 Year End Function ideas to enable your staff to relax, have fun, celebrate their achievements of the year and chat to each other as people and not as colleagues!
