Cape Point Vineyards are the proud hosts of the vibrant Noordhoek Community Market which takes place every Thursday between 4.30pm and 8.30pm in the village of Noordhoek. The market started on 22 November 2012 and has been a resounding success with the patrons!
Cape Point Vineyards have joined forces with small local producers to offer Noordhoek residents and Noordhoek visitors the opportunity to gather at a community event that takes place weekly. What better occasion than a market in a beautiful setting.
The market is located at Cape Point Vineyard’s new tented summer tasting room and picnic site off Silvermine Road- overlooking the dam and the valley. There is a children’s play area and ablution facilities. Parents should be aware that the dam and jetty are open water and children should be supervised.
The market is great for local foodie treats. You’ll find local favourite restaurants like Village Sushi with their Asian delights and the Foodbarn Deli who have new treats each week. Look out for fresh tuna steaks from Kommetjie Kitchen and the “to-die-for-crepes-with-fudge” from Ta-Da! Creperie & Coffee bar.
Angel Chefs give you treats with less guilt – as the sign reads “Heavenly Delights without the Dev-elish effect!” We love the Lamb man who produces some of the most fabulous lamb rolls ever and a killer lamb salad! Passion Foods produce the most amazing salads and quiches for that home cooked meal feeling.
The Noordhoek community market has a glorious setting above the vineyards dam – rolling lawns, plenty of tables and chairs, magnificent views with cover and protection from the elements if required. Kids play happily before the sun goes down and they get whisked home to bed. Locals stroll barefoot on the grass and laughter permeates the air as the adults eat, drink and chat. Cape Point Route thinks it’s fabulous and gives anyone a good reason to visit the region.
