They say that Cape Town is a weather obsessed city and, being near the tip of the African continent, weather can change rapidly and dramatically. However the Cape Town climate will no doubt pleasantly surprise you. The summers are warm and dry and the winters moist and wet. Average summer temperatures are in the high twenties (Celsius) and average winter temperatures are in the upper teens (Celsius).
Summer can see Cape Town’s infamous South-Easter wind transform an otherwise beautiful day and in winter the crisp cool days can be altered by the North-Westerly wind which dumps much needed rain upon the Cape.
Cape Town’s Seasons are from November to March (summer), June to August (winter), with Autumn in April and May and Spring in September and October. The secret season in the Cape is May and June, although it is perhaps not so secret anymore. With warm days, minimal wind and fewer visitors, it is a fabulous time to visit the Cape Point Route.
Cape Town’s weather can affect your travel plans but as a 365 day per year destination, there will always be a choice of activity, no matter what the weather. Contact us for suggestions. |
