The use of technology, Google Earth and Satellites is a great way to create a mentally stimulating teambuilding programme into an afternoon of exploration and adventure. The wilderness area of Signal hill, with beautiful views of Table Mountain and Cape Town city bowl will be our playground!

Experience It
After a briefing on how to use a GPS, the teams will follow clues to navigate their way around the greater Signal hill area to find the pre set waypoints. At each Checkpoint the teams will have to use their creative problem solving abilities to complete a task. These could include solving a Woodcutters Challenge, an Engineering Challenge, finding hidden puzzle pieces or identifying aliens!

Once all points have been visited and the tasks completed the teams will head back to the Head Quarters to hand in their GPS. The data from the GPS will give us an overview of the route and indicate the time spent planning the route, time spent travelling, distance travelled and the average speed. We will determine which team planned and executed the most efficient route to all the waypoints.

This will illustrate the different team’s strategic approach to problem solving and will highlight some common errors in the process.  We will download the routes onto Google Earth to show the teams an overview of the route they covered, where they found short cuts or got hopelessly lost!

Teambuilding Value:
Using the GPS teaches useful navigation  and planning skills while empowering the group to take responsibility for their decision making. Strategy and effective communication are essential to complete this exercise in the most effiecient manner. The data we retrieve from each GPS clearly illustrates each teams approach!
