Lie back in your sleeping bag on a wonderfully comfy bed, leave the tent flap open, and watch drowsily as the trees gently sway in the breeze and birds rythmically chirp around your hut.
This beautiful, rustic but luxurious camp near Noordhoek in Cape Town, caters for both local and international visitors, and is built from timber felled and milled in the Table Mountain National Park. Following the principle of touching the earth lightly, only previously damaged sites were selected, and the design ensures minimum environmental impact.
Accommodation
The "tents" are permanent structures, with canvas interiors covered by a completely weatherproof sheeted roof.
The Silvermine Tented Camp is also themed to fit snugly into its environment, with its low, rounded design complementing the low, undulating fynbos thicket of the Silvermine reserve. Silvermine, like all the camps, is fitted with fully environmentally-friendly facilities.
Amenities
There is safe and secure parking at the Silvermine camp, as well as a large open outdoor braai area. There is a large fully equipped kitchen for campers to use as they please, and neat, clean, outdoor showers and toilets.
