Leisure Getaways... Hiking

Adventure :: Hiking :: Romantic :: Family

Hoerikwaggo Overnight Trails from Cape Point to Table Mountain
The iconic Hoerikwaggo hiking trail traversing 75km through the world heritage site of Table Mountain National Park (TMNP), the Hoerikwaggo Trail gives hikers an unforgettable experience of travelling in the footsteps of the Cape’s ancestors and experiencing the unsurpassed beauty of the Hoerikwaggo – the “mountain in the sea”.

Experience it...
Hikers pass through peaks, forests, beaches and restricted conservation areas of Table Mountain National Park, while journeying through the smallest and most diverse of the world’s floral kingdoms. Along the trail, hikers are also exposed to breathtaking views; and flora and fauna unique to the Western Cape.

Live it...
After a long days’ hike you will just be too happy to arrive at one of the Eco-Friendly Camps which were exclusively built for the Hoerikwaggo Trail.  Each camp can accommodate a maximum of 12 hikers in 2 sleeper or 4 sleeper tents. All camps offer hot water, comfortable beds with bedding, open fires, fully equipped self-catering communal kitchens/dining areas and communal bathrooms with towels. All camps are easily accessible by car and have dedicated parking areas. Children are welcome at all the camps but we recommend Orangekloof which has a 4 sleeper tent.  More info...

Hike it
Below are one day trails which can be extended.
The full Hoerikwaggo trail was traditionally 5 days, but due to the Wild Fires in March 2015, the Silvermine Hut burnt down and there is no accommodation available there.  (Alternative accommodation can be sourced in Noordhoek at private accommodation estalbishments).
