Pub Quiz and Quiz Nights have taken off in the south peninsula of Cape Town and are especially popular in winter. The ones listed below are weekly events and although the specific formats vary slightly from pub to pub, they all have a quiz master and the participants need to write their answers on a piece of paper.
Quiz nights normally cover a range of topics and can range from 10 – 80 questions covering General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Sport, Entertainment, Art & Literature, Film, Science & Nature, History, Geography, Music rounds, Picture rounds and even Novelty rounds. Some quiz nights offer bonus points for almost impossible questions or double up rounds. Most quiz nights offer prizes for the winning teams but it seems that in the south peninsula honour and glory of being the top team takes precedent over the prizes!

Hi there
We have a great quiz at the Country Club but it is monthly, on the 2nd Friday of each month. This month, July, however we have had to move it to Friday night the 27th because we have big functions on. We challenge all the other pubs / restaurants to try and beat our PJ team. Also time for an onter-pub-club challenge.

I can vouch for our quiz at the stoep (obviously) and the fishermans on the thursday. unfortunately i havent been to any of the others.
